What a great way to start our season! Today at the Celina Sprint Invitational we saw many personal best times, several top finishes, along with stroke awareness and improvement. This meet is a very unique and fun way to start our season. It is great to get a baseline of where our swimmers are with their 50 times before we have even begun speed work.

A few highlights:

Girls finished 3rd overall behind Jay County and Celina with 90 points. Amy Fulmer finished as the top individual female after winning the 50 Free, 50 Fly, and 50 Back and scoring in 50 Breast. Abby Kite also found her way to the top 25 individual scorers finishing as the 14th female in a pool of over 200 swimmers. Shoutouts to Maddie Dailey who set new best times in all four events today, Brandon Gamble, Preston Henry, and Nate Kurtz each setting 3 personal best times, and Avery Moore and Chloe Reynolds with two personal best times a piece. Another shoutout goes to our first year swimmers for their strong efforts today. I was impressed to see each new swimmer compete and accept feedback ready to continue to grow.

A few announcements:

*As I’m sure your swimmers advertised to you - we have raffle tickets for the Limited Edition Autographed Framed Photo of OSU Greats Archie Griffin, Jerry Lucas, & Jack Nicklaus - 1 ticket for $5 or 5 tickets for $20. If you are interested in purchasing just send the money with your swimmer or they will be available for purchase at our home meet on Tuesday. This is a fundraiser put on by the athletic boosters. This group is invaluable to our team as they support us in many ways throughout our season.

*We still need lots of timers for our first home meet on Tuesday 12/4. Timers need to arrive at 6:15 PM and will not be charged admission. Please help out if you can. We cannot start the meet without adequate help.

*The next few weeks are very busy! December begins with a chance for us to get to learn our swimmers as competitors. We work through these meets and try to get swimmers into lots of different events. The holiday will provide a nice break after the intensity of the next few weeks so we will continually encourage our swimmers to push through this critical period.
