The Triad Lady Cardinals traveled to Tipp City for a non-conference battle with the Bethel Bees on Wednesday night, and unfortunately another cold shooting night led to a 56-51 defeat for the Cards, their 3rd loss in a row after an 8-4 start.
"We were 1-15 from behind the 3 point line, and that's not going to win too many games," said Lady Card coach Jeff Merklin. "Shooting is our issue this season; we really work hard as a team and we have great girls in the program, so we stay in games, but at the end of the day, you have to knock down some shots to win games."
Despite the loss, there were many good things for Triad. Makenzie Cauley hauled down a team season high 13 rebounds to go with 6 points, and 3 girls had 12 points each, Alea Ferguson, Tori Thomas, and Cati LeVan, who also had 5 steals.
Triad travels to West Jefferson Saturday night in a return to Ohio Heritage Conference play.
