The Triad Lady Cardinals travelled to West Jefferson for an Ohio Heritage Conference game on Thursday night, and came home with their first loss of the season, 56-36 to the Lady Roughriders.

“I’m very proud of our girls,” said Lady Card coach Jeff Merklin.   “We had 2 of our top 7 players injured, but everyone played as hard as they could.  We started out in a zone to try to keep the pace down, but West Jeff’s outside shooting was excellent tonight.”

Frani LeVan had 13 points to lead Triad, with Cati LeVan chipping in 11.    Triad shot only 27% from the field for the game (12-42).   Kristin Bailey had 8 points and 8 rebounds for the Lady Cards.

Triad drops to 2-1 on the season, 1-1 in conference play.  The Lady Cards travel to West Liberty on Saturday night for another OHC game.
