TIGER FOOTBALL CAPUTRES SHARE OF 2017 OCC-OHIO CROWN; AMBER HAMELIN & MATT SCRAPE SET SCHOOL MARKS, LEAD CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS TO REGIONAL MEET

PHSC - Tiger Varsity football Friday defeated Reynoldsburg 41-7 to improve to 8-1 overall and 4-0 in OCC-Ohio play to claim at least of a share the 2017 league crown. The Tigers close the regular season Friday at Grove City.

The Girls and Boys cross country teams advanced to next Saturday's Regional meet with impressive performances in the District meet at Wakins Memorial.

Senior Amber Hamelin lowered her school-record time to 18:40 with a fifth-place individual finish to lead the Tigers to a third place team finish. Lauren Marvin was 8th (19:04).

Senior Matt Scrape set the school and Watkins course record winning the District meet in a time of 14:59.5, his first-ever sub-15:00 performance. The Boys finished second to PHSN, who is the Regional host. Junior Brady Johnson was fifth (15:42).

TIGER GIRLS TENNIS AND CROSS COUNTRY'S AMBER HAMELIN SET SCHOOL MARKS

PHSC -- Head Coach Kelli Rings says her Girls tennis team continues to surpass her expections and this week broke Pickerington Cental's season record for dual match wins. The Tigers notched wins over Granville and Davidson for their 21 and 22 win on the year to surpass the single-season mark of 20 set in 2003 (20-1). The OCC-Ohio champion Tigers ended the regular season Tuesday compiling a 22-1 mark for the year. Congratulatons to the Tigers and Coach Kelli Rings.

The Tigers play host to the state championship Sectional Tournament Thursday and Saturday.

Additionally, senior cross country runner Amber Hamelin ran an 18:46 in the Meet of Champions Saturday to eclipse Olivia Champman's school-mark by two seconds. Hamelin concludes her regular season Saturday at the Eisenhart Meet at Thomas Worthington before cross country enters post-season competition.
