9/8/17 TIGERS INDUCT SIX INTO ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME

PHSC - Central High School added six more to its illustrious athletic Hall of Fame in a ceremony at Central Saturday, Sept. 9 at Central HS. The new members were recognized at halftime of the Tiger's football game against Trotwood Madison.

Congratulations to the newest members of the Tigers Hall of Fame. 

The induction class includes: Judson Ballard ('98, baseball and basketball); Josh Kristoff ('10, football, baseball, track); John Monebrake ('69, football, baseball); Chris Walker (teacher, Athletic Director '78-'07); Blaine Burgess ('09, football, wrestling, baseball, track); Emilee Harmon ('09, basketball).

CHRIS WALKER

 

Teacher, Athletic Director & Assistant Athletic Director 1978 – 2007

A strong advocate for coaches and student-athletes

Helped with the organization of 7/8 grade level of athletic directors throughout the OCC in 1981

Played an integral part in preparing the opening of Pickerington Junior High in 1992 Worked with the architects in planning the addition and remodeling of the athletic facilities at the junior high.

Primary person involved in designing the gym and outdoor athletic facilities for Lakeview and Pickerington North

Involved with Pickerington Central getting new football bleachers and press box as well as a new track

 

He was a strong believer in teaching young athletes as they enter 7th grade the importance of their academic success and making sure they always understood the rules and regulations of the athletic department and then holding them accountable if they failed to meet the standards of Tiger Athletics

 

Chris was a tireless worker; a dedicated employee of the athletic department; a fighter for the coaching staff; an unwavering supporter of the athlete; and a constant need for all of our Pickerington athletes to achieve the very best in the classroom and their chosen field of play and our varsity coaches and sports teams to be the best and achieve the ultimate prize of a state championship.
