Game Summary

Varsity Baseball Opens MAC With a Victory

The Varsity baseball team jumped out to an early lead for a 6-2 MAC victory over New Knoxville. The game was originally scheduled to be played at Don Black Field in Rockford, but wet field conditions forced the Panthers to travel to New Knoxville in order to get the game played. Although playing away, Parkway remained the home team.

The Rangers struck first, but the Panthers quickly knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the first inning when Jack Wehe singled on a 1-2 count for an RBI. Parkway took the lead for good with a Shay Pond 2 RBI double. Logan Huff earned the win on the mound tossing six innings, surrendering three runs, seven hits, striking out five, and walking one. Wehe recorded the last three outs to earn the save.

Parkway had 13 hits in the game. Jack Wehe, Tristen McKee, and Carson Ford each collected multiple hits with Wehe going 3 for 4 on the day.
